Sir Rufus King Murphy ...

This has been a tough week.
My precious Murphy died on Friday.

I am blessed.
To have had him in my life.
To feel the unconditional Love this big creature gave me.
He listened to me when no one else did.
He didn't always obey!   But he heard.

I am blessed that he made it easy on me.
He was always stoic.  Never complained.  About anything.
He went under our deck to his favorite spot and chose to move on.

He made my world Whole.

Just last week I shared how our nest is getting smaller.

He lived to be 8 and 1/2 years old. A pretty good life for a Newfie.  Just not enough for me.

Thank you for letting me share not only my adventures in design, but my life and how the simple things in life really do make the difference.

xo,

kim

  2. Sorry for the loss of your beloved Newfie. My mother was a Newfie owner and lover and I know how she felt when she lost her favorite, so I can only imagine your sadness.

  3. I wish I had the pleasure of knowing him, he looks like the sweetest thing. I feel for you all and know he had a wonderful life with all of you. I have been where you are and it's no fun at all. Are your other 2 dogs affected by this? Ive been wondering about that. God bless Murphy and your family.

  4. What a precious face on Murphy. Losing a beloved member of the family is so very difficult. I think most of us are animal lovers and feel your pain. I'm so sorry.

  6. oh Kim - i am so so sorry and sad to hear this. i was with mom the other night when she got your call - i wish i had something to say that made the pain and the big gaping hole go away. they are so wonderful to us, i cant imagine how that hurts. i hope he's happy up there in doggie heaven - it would be cool, lots of decks to lay under and bushes to wreck :)

  7. My heart aches for you, Kim. They bring so much joy to our lives and I know how much you'll miss him. They're one of my favorite breeds, he looks like he had that sweet, docile and endearing personality all Newfies have. I'm so sorry.

  8. Oh Kim, I am so sorry for your loss. Newfies are so sweet and loveable, but yes, they don't live nearly long enough. My thoughts and prayers are with you. The part about him going under the deck broke my heart.

    xoxo

  10. Kim, I am so sorry to hear about your loss of Murphy. I know it is doubly hard when added to your recent empty nest. My 18 year old cat passed away last year the week before my youngest left for college. Big hugs to you, my dear!
